Welcome to the Online Workshop: Maximizing Arrow and Broadhead Terminal Performance
Note: The workshop will be limited to 15 participants.
Thank you for joining us for this focused workshop dedicated to one of the most critical aspects of ethical and effective bowhunting—arrow and broadhead terminal performance. Whether you're a seasoned hunter education instructor or a bowhunter committed to improving your success in the field, this session is designed to equip you with research-based knowledge and practical strategies that can make all the difference when it matters most.
At the heart of our workshop is the groundbreaking work of the Ashby Bowhunting Foundation, whose decades of scientific field research have identified the 12 Factors Affecting Arrow Lethality. These principles form the foundation for understanding how to maximize penetration, ensure clean kills, and uphold the highest standards of ethical hunting.
We'll also explore Plan A and Plan B approaches to arrow and broadhead selection. Plan A represents your optimal setup—designed with every advantage in mind for maximum performance under ideal conditions. Plan B, on the other hand, prepares you for less-than-perfect scenarios, such as steep shot angles or larger game species, where backup gear or modified setups might be necessary to maintain ethical effectiveness.
By the end of this workshop, you’ll be better equipped to:
Understand a Plan A Arrow and Plan B Arrow
Maximize Terminal Arrow Performance
Leverage 12 Arrow Penetration Enhancing Factors
Minimize the shot distance
Let’s take a closer look at what it means to hunt not only successfully—but ethically and responsibly.
